Losing a spouse can devastate a life. Two lives can be so intertwined that when one life is removed, the other simply collapses. Do you feel ready to collapse at times? Do you have questions without answers? Are you faced with a future that seems uncertain and cloudy? Next Step is here to help. Support, loving, caring, prayer, and understanding are only a step away. No one can face your new life for you, but with Next step, you don't have to do it alone.
In fact, we believe you're not alone. God waits to comfort you. He waits to strengthen you. He waits to draw close to yuo with the love of a Father. He is only a step away. To take that Next Step after a loved one has passed away is sometimes easiest if you don't have to step alone. Next Step exists to provide Christian comfort and compassionate assisstance in a small group setting to those who have suffered the loss of a loved one.
The objectives of Next Step are
- To provide Biblical comfort to those who have suffered a recent loss of a loved one.
- To provide a small group setting for sharing and counsel.
- To provide the facility and times for regular meetings.
- To provide trained loss outreach volunteers to contact those in our community who have recently experienced loss.
- To provide information and a network of resources and agencies to assist in transition adjustments.
- To provide discipleship and assimilation into the body of Christ.
Comfort comes from the Comforter
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."
2 Corinthians 1:3-4
